Easy all, i'm going travelling for 4 months this year and want a decentish camera for me to take away and go trigger happy with.

I've got access to a Casio Exilim digi cam, but it's been around the block and the last time I used it the pictures were all blurry (don't know if thats something to do with the exposure or ISO settings) and weren't really the best tbh.

Can anyone recommend me a decent travelling camera (something that will take good shots night and day)?

Whats the best thing to look for when getting a new digi cam, and am I right in thinking makes like Canon and Fuji are the best? I don't want a DSLR or anything as advanced and expensive as this, i'm looking for a compact point and shoot around the £150 mark.

Thanks.

i recently purchased a Panasonic FX150 its a great little thing with manual and raw shooting modes, zoom is only 3.6 but only bought it as general going out and fun snaps camera. Having sifted through loads of reviews the TZ6 TZ7 stand out as best all round performance and have 10x zoom, the TZ7 gets HD recording also.

Well there are tons of camera in the point and shoot line up, but i would go with a compact super zoom then you have the reach of a 12x zoom and something that can just slip in your pocket, TZ6 came out on top in this sector yes its slighty above budget at £180 but it should do all your holiday needs and produces great images.
