Decent Video Editing Software?

Hey guys, I'm starting to record some let's plays, inspired by various youtubers

I could do with some assistance in getting it all ready however; I'm currently battling with windows movie maker, which as you may know, is pretty dire.

I'm using fraps to record the game play and sound, can anyone recommend a decent setup and procedure for getting videos up and looking nice?

it's never agreed with me, doesn't seem to like 10GB+ files very much!

Damn not compatible with W7 it seems, refuses to start - seems fairly common

I've just got adobe premier 6 on trial, the dogs balls of video editing it seems, problem is, it's like being on the bridge of the starship enterprise! So confusing, is Vegas easyish to use?

Hey guys, I'm sticking with CS6 Prem pro trial for now, however if I try export in MPEG2 H264 it exports the sound in a separate file to the video, anyone have any clue? :O

Yeah. I'm still using moviemaker for now, but my videos look so basic and nooby
