hi im currently using 007 sharks win 7 codecs but there not upto scratch for my system can any one recommend any other codecs for Windows 7?

I haven't found any vids that wouldn't run fine in Windows 7 - what extensions are you guys using? DivX ?

It even plays my random video camera extention .mts!

Nowdays I just install the MKV splitter and that's it, I let windows built in codecs do it all now. Seems to work fine for 99% of things.

I install cccp without the media players and then install mpchc 64 and configure the file types inside mpchc, works great :).

You only need MPC-HC, don't bother with the 64bit version though as it only supports 64bit codecs so you get reduced support. There's no point in installing 64bit for the sake of it.

This..
Play's everything, gives icons.. no silly codecs to install.

unfortunately it's been bought by some weird company who've stopped development on it.

<edit> Oh, my mistake - they've just considerably SLOWED development, with the last release being about 2 months ago, and the release before that in mid 2008...
