Decent windows 7 codecs?

ffdshow tryouts with Haali Media Splitter sorts all my video playback needs :)

can also be configured to upscale etc

Why don't M$ make their own codec packs for win7? Seems a bit weird to have a new O/S then have to hunt around the net for codecs.

Because the codecs aren't their products. Personally I'd just slap VLC on there and be done with it, it's been years since I worried about codecs.

unfortunately it's been bought by some weird company who've stopped development on it.

<edit> Oh, my mistake - they've just considerably SLOWED development, with the last release being about 2 months ago, and the release before that in mid 2008...

Latest KM Player was released 2 weeks ago.

Yes updates are not as frequent as other players, however I've found no need for updates. It's very light and very feature rich.

I have a problem with playing video files with all media players except WMP on Win 7.

If i watch a file full screen it becomes pixelated. With WMP it plays full screen quite nice.

Any ideas, I dont have any codec packs installed as yet.

Whilst I <3 Sharky, installing the codec pack on my Win7 HTPC seems to mean that the native support for .mov get stripped out. My work laptop which is x64 7 Enterprise plays .movs with no codecs installed on it what so ever, but my HTPC doesn't
