Deciding between cases.

Been after a new case for a while, as my current case (NZXT Hush) doesn't have much air intake and I think is the cause of some noise problems I've been having (PSU gets very noisy under load, and I think it's cause it's being starved of cool air).

The three cases I'm currently looking at are the BitFenix Merc Alpha, Merc Beta (currently out of stock, so may not be an option), or the Outlaw.

I've read that the Merc cases have partially blocked air intakes on the front, so I'm concerned that they may have the same issues as my current case, although they do have various other places for mounting fans so perhaps using one of those would overcome the problem.

My specs are:
Q6600 (At stock 2.4Ghz, with a Freezer 7 Pro)
GTX460 768MB
2x Hard drives (Not SSD)
1x DVD RW
Corsair 500W PSU (Not modular)

If you have any other suggestions for cases around the same price or only a little bit more then I'm happy to listen. I'm looking for something fairly quiet though. I also need something with USB 2.0 rather than 3.0, as my motherboard is old.

I got the Outlaw today. I'd had second thoughts after ordering it, as I'd seen and read about the Fractal Design R3, which is a bit more expensive but looks incredible and is supposed to be very quiet and still have good cooling (If anyone can comment on this I'd like to hear). I wasn't able to cancel my order for the Outlaw in time though.

It's a decent case. It's a little louder when the comp is idle than my old case was (NZXT Hush). At load it's much quieter though, as the PSU fan isn't going mental. Hard drive noise is MUCH louder than the Hush, but I guess that's to be expected.

One of the biggest complaints I'd have about it is how bright the power light is - I practically get blinded whenever I see it.

I'm not sure how long I'll stick with this for, as I'm supposed to be inheriting a chunk of money soon and may end up getting the R3. For now it'll do as it's at least not overheating my components like the old case was.

All 3 look pretty plain to be honest.

I like the plain style of case. That's mostly why I didn't go for the Zalman, as it's just not to my taste at all.

well you cant really compare the outlaw to the r3, they are in 2 totally different price categories (80 vs 36 quid)
so...yeah...

Oh yeah I know, it was just a case of maybe instead of buying this one just waiting for a bit longer and getting the R3, but I'm happy with this one for now. The Outlaw, for it's price seems quite amazing really.

I think I paid probably about double the cost of this for my Hush back in 2008, and I don't think that was worth the money at all now.
