Deck lights

I'm building a deck and can't decide on deck light spacing.

I'm thinking about 500mm, but wondering if that's too many?

Can you post a pic of yours for inspiration?
 
From my experience as an electrician buy a few spares. Invariably water will get into them at some point then you'll have the unenviable task of trying to find some replacements that match the hole size and design of the remainder.

For this reason I avoided installing any at my previous place that had a decking.
 
I based mine on number of boards rather than a metric spacing. I think it was every 4th board (3 boards between lights). Seemed to look about right.
 
Do you have any pics? What height have you fitted them at?

Agreed. Getting the exact same style, colour, fitting type is a nightmare if one goes.

This was what I did with my decking at the last house. Before someone says one is out of line, that one is on a lower step and it's just the angle of the camera.
