Decluttering your life

I binned a load of stuff recently and have stopped hoarding junk i'll never use.

Could have sold a few bits but ebay is too much hassle these days.

if you haven't used it or worn it in 12 months ............ BIN IT!

I'm in the process now; lots must go but I'll be strong!

Be harsh..
Try to sell everything you think is sellable
everything that isn't, goes in the wheely bin

Or move out and let your parents deal with it :D

I did similar half a year ago, when I moved. I ended up not taking anything with me except my bed, TV and PC.

Heavens! What did the neighbours think! You can get arrested for that. :p

Another bag of tapes went to the tip today. Loads to go - I can probably fill a skip, or two.

It's all very well when people say "if you don't use it bin it" and for the most part i agree. But everything i have i got for a reason, it has a use maybe not everyday but its part of my life and as long as there's a bit of space left i'm going to cram it in right to the end :D

I've got much better these days, I used to be terrible at throwing things away.

We moved house and now I have two very small rooms to live in so I've had to get much better at it. I actually really like selling stuff on eBay. Exciting.

as i said on the cluttering my life thread, i hate clutter and throw out or dispose of anything i dont need.

Reckon I'm about 10% through my junk mountain. My rubbish bin and all my recycling bins are full so it'll be good when that lot gets collected.

Next weekend is going to be an interesting challenge though! (bank holiday weekend not to be wasted)

I have a box in my wardrobe full of cables and connections I've got with components - it's usually pretty useful - if I need anything cable wise - it's always the first place I go to as normally I'll have it there :p

If you've got a fair bit of stuff then I'd recommend the car boot sale, not for the financial gain, but simply to avoid landfill. If you can't sell the stuff you could always ask other sellers if they want your stuff, as you do get "specialists" there, e.g. a guy with a computer stall.

Rgds

I wish it was me that cluttered my life. The missus is the one who fills our life with crap.

+1

Most of the "junk" we have in our house is because it is connected to a memory or was once owned by another family member who gave it to her instead of throwing it away.

If she will not let you throw it away, you may be able to strike a compromise where it is put in the loft :P
