Decluttering

I have this problem with boxes, I keep my collectors edition boxes which are normally quite large, plus have the boxes from new motherboards/parts. Moving out soon so they shall be disposed of accordingly I believe!

I've got 2 plastic boxes in the attic for random bits.

[*]1 is full of AV cables, connectors and general AV stuff I think might come in handy
[*]1 is full of PC cables, screws, connectors and general PC stuff[/LIST]
It's proved to work well because I know if I need to tinker with the PC or grab a spare HDMI cable, I just need to pop the lid off the relevant box.

I'm exactly the same, I have boxes of kettle leads, case spares, audio/monitor/usb cables, you name it. I even had a clear out last month and threw away nearly a whole wheely bin full of cables and old parts (I couldn't lift it) and still have a couple of boxes left and a toolbox with parts I needed.

You always think that you'll keep something 'just incase' - when am I seriously going to need 10 extra long rounded IDE cables and a couple of 3.5" FDD cables in this day and age?

Trouble is I can have a clear out but a few weeks later I look again and think 'what was I thinking keeping this?' I'd like to throw the lot out but I know I'll need whatever it is the next week!

Cables and old pc stuff..tell me about it! I've got drawers full. I can never bear to part with them 'just in case' and what's annoying is that I on a couple of occasions I have been able to use something from there.

I then use that to justify to myself hanging on to it all

Clothes wise, hang clothes on hangers, fold them facing one way, when you use them and put them back hang them facing the other way and fold them differently. if after a year there are any facing the original way...bin them.
