Hi everyone, I need some help and advice please. I built a P/C about a year ago, Asus M/B i3 WD 640Gb etc and it has been fine until I got a virus.
I took the P/C into a repair shop to have the virus removed, after a couple of days I was informed that the only way the virus could be removed was to completly wipe the hard drive.
I have the P/C back now and of course it is empty except for the O/S ( 7 home premium )which was re-loaded. My questions are:
Would it be possible to use a small SSD ( 60Gb ) for the O/S and a few apps and use the existing WD hard drive for data only, so that if I get infected again i can just wipe the SSD and reload the O/S without loosing data. Will this work?
If it is possible how do I go about setting the P/C up to use two drives, simple language please as I am not a computer wizz
Thanks for your help

You pretty much just plug in both drives, put in the windows install disc. Choose your ssd. Once it's installed the other drive should show up in My Computer. As if you plugged in an external drive. Just remember to delete all the old windows files and stuff from your old drive when you're done.

Don't plug in both drives.

Set the BIOS to AHCI mode.

Install Windows on the SSD with only that drive connected otherwise Windows will try and install some files on the HDD.

Once Windows is installed on the SSD you can then re-connect the HDD.
