The faster the card the faster the Physx. Add a slower card and it performs worse.

Guys try using Fluidmark for your tests.

Those are actually some very interesting results. The change in minimum frame rates on PhysX-heavy games is quite impressive!

I will look into doing some testing of my own when I upgrade to 980ti.

Does anybody know what kind of load the PhysX card gets put under? I'm guessing it will fluctuate depending on what PhysX effects are present but I'm interested to know if the downside is having another card running flat out in-game.

When I was testing it the PhysX GPU was mostly running between 18% and 30% load with the odd spike.

The biggest difference I saw was in smoothness I posted some frametime comparisons but it was awhile back and I can't remember where - not sure if its still true today but Mafia 2 and Batman were quite a lot smoother with a dedicated card doing PhysX.

Yes it works on older Physx still with older Nvidia drivers.Does not work on Physx 3.0 and above.
