deep breaths... AAGGGG WHAT HAPPENED?

so you didn't try to switch it on once it was fully discharged and then plugged into AC? you just left if off and plugged in?

I pressed the power button once - just to take a chance and do what you did. Nothing wrong, it didn't even turn on, it was *that* flat.

Then I plugged in and charge straight to full.

Aye, when I got mine back from being repaired it was as flat as a pancake. :(

I wanted to play on the way home dammit! :o

Wow, I'm surprised.
I often read on forums with people waiting up to 2 weeks for their replacement or redelivery. I take it your mac was a base unit?

Quiksilver must have gone for the basic package.
Mine was basic and I added the miniDVI to DVI convertor. By adding the item Apple class the unit as a BTO and therefore the replacement has to come from Shanghai.
My advice to anyone buying a Macbook is do not under any circumstances add anything to the base configuration. If anything goes wrong in the first 14 days it will have to come from Shanghai.

At least by coming from Shanghai you get a "new" build.

You're safe in the knowledge it's left the factory and has been shipped to you direct, rather than from a stockpile at the Apple UK warehouse in Ireland.

I suppose it boils down to your patience..

Reviving this thread... I shut down my macbook last night and this morning it wouldn't turn on. I plugged in the charger and it's come on but the battery is showing at 0% and isn't going up at all. I think possibly I closed the lid before it had properly shut down and it went into sleep instead and the battery has discharged completely.

If the battery is screwed am I entitled to a replacement from Apple? I'm within a year, oh and I have apple care anyway.

Felix

I've done that before, it sleeps just before shutdown and drains the battery.

If you have killed it, then I'm sure they will replace it for you.
