Deep Fried Mars Bars

Anyone ever tried to deep fry mars/snickers at home? It's pretty difficult to get a good result. Freezing the bar beforehand help,s but it's never anything like out of the chippy. And I haven't seen one for about 15 years or so.

One bit of a deep fried mars bar and I could feel my internals shutting down, was awesome.

Deep fried black pudding is awesome with sauce. Couldn't say I have it regularly though. :o

You need a really high oil temp in order to cook it properly, you won't get that at home! :(

I didn't like it when I tried them. I'm not a sweet tooth though, would have preferred battered haggis.

Anyway, isnt the new national dish the Munchy Box with cheese? :p

That looks so tasty.,

In fact I am going to grab something similar on the way home yes sir.

I fear the message is lost! Haggis de Batter! that is national dish to be proud of. Be warned of the Munchie Box, that is a dish best served with company, no man can climb that hill and live to talk about (Unless he's from Buckie!)

Your kidding right!

Damn Weggies. Get out.

Salt n Sauce over anything. I hate that about not living Edinburgh way, I just refuse to buy chippies unless I'm in that area. If a chippy does not do sauce am out of there.

You can buy bottles of sauce from most Edinburgh chippys and take them anywhere you go! It's the only way I survived 4 years out of Edinburgh at uni.

I always meen to do this when I pop to the rents. Infact back in a few weeks, will be able to have chippys again! :)

I used to work in a chippy, for 4 years. Question me!

Chocolate totally messses up the oil (especially animal fat, not so much oils, but it's terrible for fats) and that is the main reason they aren't very common.
Still get them in a lot of places in Glasgow, but rarer in the rest of the country.

Best chocolate I've fried? A flake, closely followed by malteasers.

Salt 'n' Sauce is for perverts.
