Recently I have been watching Deep Space 9 on Virgin 1 and it has reminded me what a brilliant piece of TV it is. Well scripted, well shot and some of the twists and turns in the story line are excellent. The only problem is it takes a hell of a long time to start getting good (read: from Season 4 onwards)

Now I have watched all the other Star Trek series (even some Enterprise, yuck! :( ) and they aren't a patch on Deep Space 9. Even Voyager with its "kind of" ongoing story line just seems to lack the depth that DS9 has.

This made me think of the epic series that was Babylon 5 and I am trying to decide which is better. I think hand on heart Babylon 5 is better but sometimes DS9 gets me with its amazing episodes.

So what do you think is best? If only Babylon 5 had the production quality of DS9. Yeah it is great that B5 has loads of special effects but sometimes the quality of them and the film sucks bad.

So out of the two what is your favourite and why? Or do you have another favourite Sci-fi series and why is it your favourite?

Sometimes it might just be a throwaway comment from one character being directly related to something that happens episodes later - Vir's conversation with Morden where he comments on how one day he'll see Mordon hung up and will wave like "this" (gesturing a very dainty wave), which then happens about 2 seasons later.

Stuff like that is what makes B5 a legend.
