Defrag 1TB Hard Drive

I have this Western Digital 1TB MyBook for a while now. Recently I have thrown over 100GB of data in to the drive, and Vista just reacts a bit slow every now and then.

I want to defrag the drive, but before I do that, does anyone has any idea how long it might take?

My last bitter experience was a full format which took nearly 7 hours to complete.

I have the same drive and if I remember correctly it's a Linux box using a Linux file system. Don't know how you plan to defrag that....

It is running Windows Vista 32 Bits, I guess I will use the Vista defrag to defrag.

I use O&O defrag 11, to do a full access format i run it overnight. depending on how much the drive has been used, its usually finished before I wake up
