I use O&O defrag, but ive used the perfectdisk and diskeeper demos (so I know the same thing happens).
Im curious to know mainly what these files are:? (by the red dots)

There huge, like 6-10GB's, and I have no idea what they are!

You can see them here as the black (locked) files:

This is my primary 250GB drive, so should it look like that after a defrag? Coz it still says the degree of defragmentation is still 26ish%

Any answers would be great :)

How do I disable vista making automatic restore points?

In XP you go to control panel > system, then click on the system restore tab and tick "turn off system restore on all drives".
It is probably similar in Vista.

Are you sure you want to completely disable it though? It can save your arse in difficult situations. If you disable it, reboot, then enable it again it will delete all your old restore files and start from scratch.

Or you can go to the drive properties, disk clean up, more options, system restore and shadow copies and click on "clean up". This will delete all but your last restore point :)

No I dont want to completely disable it, it has saved me before trust me!
I just wondered if you could turn off how it makes a restore point after a major action. I have however found how to limit how much space it uses via the cmd prompt. So ive limited it to 3GB instead of 30GB!

My word I completely forgot about that function for my OS Array. Eek around 3GB just returned to me (I think).

Defrag time...
