Deftones - Diamond Eyes

Hi all, just thought i'd start a thread about this album.

Will anyone be buying it?

I'm a huge Deftomes fan myself, and i can't wait for this album. I like the sound of Rocket Skates and Diamond Eyes.

My cd came yesterday.

Ive given it about 4 listens, one last night through the headphone setup, and 3 at work today.

I really like it, dark moody and nice guitar production.

Loving CMND/CTRL

It's a good album, but like the two before it; it doesn't come close to Around The Fur (my personal favourite) or White Pony.

It's a good album. Diamondeyes is a bit meshuggah-esque with the guitars at points i found.

This man speaks the truth. Around The Fur is in my top 5 albums of all time, it's pretty crazy that it's actually 13 years old now though... Whoever decided that bands of this calibré should be allowed to grow old should be burned at the stake for rock treason

Sorry for bumping such an old thread but I only picked up this album today and it's rather good. It does remind me a little of Around the Fur which is no bad thing...

Is anyone going to see them at Brixton Academy tomorrow?

It's funny how opinions can vary so strongly- I for one thought Adrenaline was complete tosh, yet love all the other albums: around the fur, street carp, battleaxe, mein, beauty school, be quiet and drive being some of my favourites

This album didn't blow me away and leave me running through the streets exclaiming in bearded-mexican-shouty-glory but I'd say there are 3/4 tracks that are up with the best of them

the cover of Do You Believe is pretty damn good, but other than that, as has been said, earlier stuff such as Around the Fur is better in my opinion!

Ive got tickets to see them at Rock City Nottingham this friday. I can't wait.

Will be the 4th time i've seen them at Rock City, and i've enjoyed every show.

After a few more listens Diamond Eyes has a few great tunes on but as an album it's not a patch on the older albums IMO.

After seeing them At Brixton Academy on Wednesday night, they are as good as ever live, they played mostly older tunes including a few from Adrenaline and Around the Fur which still sound great.

Jonesiani and Jumblebug, you're in for a treat this weekend! :cool:

Well, what a gig!
Out of the 4 times ive seen them, this time was their best effort. The sound was great, and Chino was hitting every note, spot on. He even ran onto the rock city balcony mid-song and sang with the fans.
Finishing with Birthmark, 7 Words, and Engine No.9 was fantastic

Not a single track of Saturday Night Wrist, however.
