Delayed component cable for the Wii !!

Yeah had the same regarding the component. Everything else has been shipped though! Does anyone work in a supermarket and know if they are getting any component cables? They are going to be like gold dust by the looks.

Yeah think some places have them, as mentioned in the countdown thread, a shop I went into today had them on the shelves today ready to be sold tomorrow

Is there ever gonna be a vga cable for this console? It's the only thing putting me off getting it, my monitor only has dvi and vga connections and I don't want a component to vga converter.

Yeah VGA and DVI are the only way to go in my eyes.

well im glad to say I have the component cable (got it on launch)

However thanks for this thread as following one of the links and reading a bit about it I realised i hadnt actually enabled 480p in the wii system settings! So only now do I have the benefit turned on !

assume it isn't the official one ? what is the quality like compared to standard composite. ?

its not official, its wel built though. I just had a play with the new settings applied on wii sports and the difference is very noticable, up close you still seee its a bit didgy but sitting a few metres away its a lot cripser, the textures look a lot better too. The grass on the tennis I was playing looked a heck of a lot bettter. Whilst I wouldnt say the difference warrants speding a load on ebay, its definitely a must at normal prices.

Bear in mind thats going from component setup wrong to component setup right. It prob looks even worse on composite.

Id take some photos but I only have my camera phone thats 3mp, im not sure it would show up well enough. I might try later though.

Must say though that I took it to my sisters house on sunday and I hooked it up to her 30 widescreen old school CRT though composite and even with the component on 480p that looked a shed load better than my hdtv.

It was so good it made me wanna go and get a cheap big crt just for the wii. If any one on here has a big crt capable of doing 480p then thats gotta look amazing for the wii.

Tosh 36" with component inputs

Will see if my order from some Canadian place turns up (doubtful as I believe everyone is ordering from them at the moment). Failing that I still have two options:
1. Make my own. Looks easy enough there's a bunch of results on Google for it. Just a bit of soldering to mess about with.
or
2. Wait a couple of weeks when I go to Florida and pick one up then.

Whens the ETA of the component cables coming back into stock everywhere?
Where ive ordered from lists my Wii as being ready for dispatch, but they wont ship till the component cable is in!

15th Dec for the component cables. Maybe wise to cancel to cables if you want the console soon, since unless you ordered them early you may not be seeing them this side of xmas.

Im considering canceling the cables, then ordering them seperately.
So i get my console early, then the cables when they're in stock.
