I have two external HDD's both different seagates

after installing my new ati hd 4850 both are showing issues with delayed write fails to the drives

its pretty annoying and ive looked into it and it seems reasonable common but with no solutions, I was wondering of anyone had seen similar issues and had a proven fix?

We had this at work on a few PC's, mostly happened with saving to a network drive on one of the servers. Only a handful of people. In the end, I'm sure I went to a M$ knowledge base article which had some reg entries which needed changing.... Have you searched on M$ Knowledge Base for "Delayed Write Failed".

Is that this one:-

Workaround: Increase the number of page table entries
If you still receive "Delayed Write Failure" error messages after you try the troubleshooting methods in this article, you may be able to work around this problem by increasing the number of page table entries available to the system. To do this, follow these steps.

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
322756 How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
In the details pane, right-click the SystemPages value, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type FFFFFFFF, and then click OK.

Note The FFFFFFFF value is okay to use. However, a value that is more than the default value but less than the maximum value may provide better results.
Exit Registry Editor.
