Hi, i was given a c300 64gb, which im using as a seperate drive for my steam games.
the problem is even tho i formatted it, it still have the MBR from linux, so when i turn on pc it wants to boot to this drive instead of my os drive with win7.

what do i need to do to delete MBR from c300 while keeping windows intact.

thanks ALi

Command prompt:

diskpart
lis dis
sel dis <SSD disk no>
clean

That will do it, but will blow away the whole disk

are you setting the windows drive as first boot device in the hdd order in the bios? it shouldnt try to boot from the c300 then

strangely enough I have tried to set my windows drive(intel) in bios but it doesnt show it in boot menu, just floppy or c300 and something else i cant remember, but no choice for my intel xm25

Edit: I just went into bios and checked again, there was 2 options boot devices and boot options, i set the intel as hdd1 and then it showed in in boot options so i set that as boot device and disabled floppy and cd.
now it boots straight into windows yey.

but i still wanna remove the linux MBR so i will try as Stelly suggested.

Okay...

Another way I have is to install Macrium Reflect and create a PE rescue CD. After booting into windows PE select fix windows boot issues (on the left hand side). This should replace the MBR and bootsect....
