Ive got a ASUS P6X58D-E motherboard and I tried updateing the Bios using ASUS Liveupdate, It deleted my older bios installed new one but couldnt verify it so now im left with no BIOS I think, I havent turned off the PC yet as im too scared incase it has gone, Ive got both new and old bios roms save on my computer. Could anyone please help me out here as to what I should do? Is the motherbord a write off? Help is Greatly appreciated.

ok restarted pc and yes the bios is gone it wont boot up at all, I have put the ASUS CD in and a flash pen with bois on it and nothing is happening. What can I do guys?

There should be a small ROM part of the bios that is untouchable, so should still be there. This usually boots up the bare minimum hardware (ie, no display) and scans floppy/cd drives etc for a compatible bios to flash. If you know what kind of bios it runs (usually AMI or award), then just google for the "*insert BIOS manufacturer here* emergency recovery procedure"

how do ya do that? I aint getting a thing on start up no beep nothing, its a AMI bios and i need a floppy drive which i dont have. gonna speak to asus in the morning as ive seen somewhere that they send a new bios chip but it costs ya, as the chip is removeable. what a ball ache!!

should work with a cd/usb stick as well on most modern boards
