Microsoft have said that he will be developing for Xbox360 and Windows Vista. This will be another attempt to force everyone to upgrade from 2k/xp, games that require Vista to run. They've already announced that Halo 2 will require Vista.

Technology for graphics is slowing down the difference between the x1800 and x1900 isn't that great. I'm not to worried about the future of pc games. Jim

Hmmm... 9700/9800, 5800/5900/5950? Theres always slow and large bursts of graphics increase. Compared to the above 9800->X800, 5900->6800->7800. I wouldnt worry about the improvements slowing down for a fair while

Mr hype has been signed by ms,

I think his games would do much better if he'd stop talking out his ass about them having x amount of features only to cut a load of them just to get the game shipped.

PM is an ideas man first and foremost - yet he rarely sees his ideas through to fruition, so in a way, his games are almost like console ports as it is. He is a genius at coming up with concepts but he somehow never manages to deliver the complete, finished product.

If someone could somehow merge the talents of Peter Molyneux and Sid Meier, we'd have the perfect game developer.

Personally, I doubt much will change. Its not like Lionhead Studios is the be-all and end-all to PC games. Consoles have the quantity of games, but PCs will always have the quality, imo. You only have to look at a games shop shelves to see how poor most console games look. PC games, however, will always reign supreme. Yes, we may get crappy console ports, but its not like you have to buy them. FPS/RTS/RPG will always be better on PC. What does that leave consoles with? Beat em' ups and driving games, really :/

Didnt Steve Balmer say that a lot more was going to be invested in the PC platform. Basically he agreed Microsoft had neglected it and would be looking to redress the balance with launch of Vista
Ballmer doesn't talk, he sort of explodes and happens to make word-like noises.

Molyneux an MGS exclusive for at least 18 months?!
That's the biggest catch/news.
It puts SCEA on very treacherous ground regarding the PS3.
989 studios is one of the finest gaming houses in the industry,
this certainly puts MGS on target for becoming a force with recognition.

The upcoming lineup for the 360 looks very promising.

EA can't be pleased by all their former independent rivals getting
bought up by the console houses. Lord knows how many times
EA had to reject Sony offer/demands, it surely ain't going to get easier.

EA might have to league up with Sega just to get the makers off their backs.

Heck I'm wondering how long it will take for Nintendo to emulate Sega
and become a software only company?

Like someone said, Cross platform games(PC/Consoles) usually suck badly, but are things getting any better?, i think so, Ghost Recon(GRAW) and Oblivion are one of the few examples of excellent cross platform games, lets hope there are more like this.
