I dont think he could just transfer the pixela program to the external and then use it from the new computer, it would need to be installed on the new pc even if to the external i think.
 
I think Mikey is right on this. It would work, but only once installed on the new computer as it will need all it's registry settings. Did Pixela come with his sony digital camera? If so, I'm pretty sure you can just download it from either Pixela or Sony...
