Games:
Burnout Revenge; great online or with just a mate.
GRAW - just a great game for single player and you can play online with a mate using split screen. Great stuff with a few bevvies.

COD2 - dont own it myself but heard its got very good single and multiplayer, but not sure if its two player.

They're my two faves right now anyway..i'm probably missing a few suggestions.
 
I personally think PGR3 is the best game on the 360. Great online multiplayer, great offline multiplayer and it is constantly supported and updated. Online tournaments with prizes aswell :) (providing you can do a crazy fast lap time)
 
Other than those you already mentioned I would get Oblivion, GR:AW, PGR3 and Condemned, all fantastic. I have most the other games out on it and tbh they're nothing special.
 
I brought Condemned off the forums the other day and Im really enjoying that!

It can be picked up for a decent price too.

Fight Night Round 3 & Top Spin 2 are the current favourites in our living room. Perfect with a few beers and they're quite easy to just pick up and play

FIFA World Cup just came out but reviews are quite below average so far.

Rockstar's Table Tennis is out in about 4 weeks and it looks like it will be excellent
 
A basketball game? They always seem to be popular with my mates :)

NBA 2K6 or the EA offering are the choices at the moment and I understand the non-EA one to be the better of the two.
 
GRAW multiplayer, even u and a mate playing split screen is a larf, kameo is fun if given a chance and DOA4 although not groundbreaking is a lot of fun, that all being from my own limited experience, and if the demo is anything to go by FN3 is excellent, got job on getting the 360 it is an excellent machine, don't listen to the nay-sayers, this winter is the start of a lot of fun the excellent games are about to start surfacing, ahoy! :p
