Not bad pricing for the 3870's but well dissapointed with the 3850 prices. Half the memory too!! Here's hoping the 3870's are decent performers. I need a new card this week and as the 8800GT's are MIA everywhere a lot is riding on these cards.

your corsair should be fine for crossfire, the minimum is only a guide, these are nowhere near as powe hungry as the XTs so should be fine

ok thanks for the support!
still i dont think its worth Xfiring on the D35P anyway, but a decent pprice would have persuaded me to get another board...

Yep, all cards (3850 & 3870) listed have Call of Juarez listed which may go some way to explaining why the price has been bumped up a bit?

3870 mildly beats the 2900 XT so should be ever-so-slightly weaker than the 8800 GT, 3850 is really more around the 2900 Pro/8800 GTS.

Note: The above information given has been from pre-release and apparent leaked AMD slideshow sources so take with a pinch of salt.

I am very temted to go for a couple of the 3870s and xfire them. Would require a new mobo though.
With the xfire would really need a bigger tft 2 to make use of it.

I dont mean cards from OcUK, just the Sapphire 3870XT cards in general.

Im going to beat you with a stick for typing '2'!!!

I laughed at how the 38xx cards from Asus make quite obvious product placements yet are more expensive than the other brands...

Edit: Ohh, it comes with the game it product places. Fair enough.

Edit2: The 3850 is a single slot design. The 3870, if I'm not mistaken is the same size as the 2900 XT?

Still waiting to see a decent review in regards to performance under DX10 and on 1920X1200.
If the card can provide decent fps at that res i'm in.
Am I the only one who was satisfied with the 2900XT, it was cracking card once good drivers were out.

Smaller fan = bad... Pushes less air at high speeds, makes more noise when it speeds up...

I'd prefer a big, slow fan personally.

the 38xx series coolers are the quietest that ATI have launched in ages, as far as i hear. Much quieter than the HD2900, and better than the 8800 series.

Eh, well I guess I can't argue with results.

Somebody buy one of these cards and start posting Crysis benchies please? =D
