I am asking myself exactly the same question - but SLIing and 24 inch. leaning towards GTXs as the extra mem and bandwith seems to help in crysis at high res

If you got a monitor bigger than 24" I would say the GTX if below I would say the GTS.

Mostly going on the fact that on lower resolutions with these monitors the difference in settings and performance won't be that big of a difference.

The reason why I would say the GTS is due to the fact it keeps the card cooler, quieter and it takes up a good fair amount less power saving money on the electric bills over a period of time.

I can run 2kx1.5k @79Hrtz on my gaming CRT but even I think getting a GTX might not be the best buy and I'll be in the market for a decent card in the next two weeks.

With all the cards that Nvidia are spitting out ATM who's to say the GTX won't get revamped and put out in G92 form at the exact same price or near too the price that you are about to pay?. That I think would make the extra paid over the GTS a bit pointless. This is pure speculation though.

I think the new GTS would do both of you as well as me until the next BIG thing from Nvidia. I don't think you two will have to tone down much at native resolution but I most probably will. I don't mind though. Also if something new comes along then the GTS will still have a good resale value to move on up to the next big thing. The GTX's I'm unsure about as I don't know if they will be replaced?.

The GTX is now £234.99 now lol. This is nuts . I take back my last statement as I don't know any more :p. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

What to do?...... Hmmmmm. Stuff it. Get the GTX or then what if.... lol.

If you think it will do you fine and the resale value isn't something you are concerned about then go for the GTX. If, however Nvidia decided to release a card that was faster than the GTX then would you want it?. I think selling a new GTS will be a lot easier to sell. Nice one OCUK :D you have made it hard to decide :p.

How about waiting two months, saving a bit of cash and getting... haha, yeah right, get a GTX!!!

I think its the lack of real competition tho tbh, its a shame.

2 in sli should be nice skidder, does your mom and dad pay the leccy bill?

oh thats okay then :)

No, since I'm 33 and self employed i tend to pick up most of the bills myself ;)

I am going to do a bit of research for a PSU later. This is for a full system build as i am running old gear on an AGP board on my main PC.

The GTS approaches GTX performance. I am sure they will release a Dual GPU in the next one or two months. Don't forget that the GTS power consumption is lower as well.
