Relax. The E2770V is a good monitor. Despite the initial disappointment that it was TN and not IPS it is one of the better monitors out there for the price. Good colours out of the box, strong contrast (with many user reports suggesting good black uniformity) and highly responsive. The pseudo 120Hz feature works quite well in films and some game titles. It isn't like having real 120Hz for games but you wouldn't expect to at that price. Lots of positives to be said about the build quality too - good solid stand design which LG are using for their upcoming '5 series' IPS monitors.

Well it depends really. How do you feel about the responsiveness of your current NEC? Many people would find a modern TN panel monitor (or a decent IPS panel monitor) much better for gaming. The contrast and colour consistency can take a little getting used to after such a migration but with the LG it shouldn't be such a system shock. I reckon you'll get along well with it (cross fingers) and won't regret the purcase.
As for the IPS 5 series, no certain release date has been given for these parts. They won't include a 27" model, anyway.

I've been doing the exact same thing, i keep looking around and i've not been able to bring myself bite the bullet and buy something. Maybe not to the same budget, i was considering the Hazro's after a few beers last night but in the cold (sober) light of day i'm thinking i'd rather not spend that much. The LG looks perfect for my needs, i've been looking around after seeing this thread and have seen some people quote the responce time as 14ms and others 5ms, there also seems to be an .AEU and .AEK versions. Now you have one could you let me know if the responce time is 5ms and do you have any idea if there is more than one version.

Well thanks for the info. I'm tempted to get one, there are a couple of other possibilities but i'll maybe start a thread of my own for a few opinions. Not only does the LG seem to have the connections and speed for games (i've been gaming for ever too 
) but it looks great.
