2. SFF, used as storage/overnight downloading. (Used more for storage recently)
3. Laptop, used for surfing the web & emailing. (It's a POS, but as of recently my most used machine)
 
Not really.

I have one main rig that I use for everything, and then a backup rig made from assorted parts that's only been booted a few times in the last 6 months. I really ought to try and sell it while it's still worth something (NF4 Ultra-D, Venice 3000+, 2gig PC3200, 6800GT).

I suppose technically speaking I have a laptop as well now (having just replaced my fiancee's). Athlon XP 3000+ with 768meg PC2700 and a GF4 MX420.

Also left a 2.7ghz P4 / 512meg PC3200 / GF2MX system at my dad's house for when I'm visiting.
 
My AMD 3700+ running PCLinuxOS (at the moment). G/f's centrino laptop and g/fs old P3-500 which I was going to carry out some sort of brainiac style experiment on. Luckily I didn't because I needed it the day both other PCs died.
 
3 Machines here,

My Gaming Machine Q6600 @ 3.78ghz (always trashing and trying various os's and such)

My Laptop Acer 5920g, My work horse. Use for email and such and playing games when visiting folks and such

My WHS Xeon 3210 4gb ram, on 24/7 Windows Home Server based machine, media sharing and backup duties as well as remote access and download machine.


Other half has 2 laptops 1 work and 1 personal.

old Athlon 64 machine as web server, downloader and spare storage - thinking of upgrading to windows home server - but still thinking about it

Tasks for the new year

decommission the firewall, most home routers are good enough now, but were not back in the day
maybe upgrade the athlon64 and have a home NAS
 
mine are,

1) main rig 2.6 C2D 4gig RAM and 2 X 75Gig in RAID and 1 500Gig for storage OS is Vista 64bit
2) 3Gig P4, 2Gig RAM, 1 x 120Gig HDD running XP Pro.
3) 2.8Gig Dell Server 1Gig RAM and 2 x 76Gig HDD running Server 2003
4) 2Gig C2D, 2Gig RAM and 2 X 500Gig HDDs' running WHS

A Buffalo 2TB NAS with all my CD's and will have all my DVD's on it.

Then my bro's got a 2.8Gig P4, 2Gig RAM, 1 x 160Gig HDD, OS is Windows XP home.

The old man has Sony Vaio just to do a bit of browsing.

And we've got a bloody great big electricity bill :D:D
 
2 here. My gaming rig as in siggy.

My internet, letter writing and everything else pc that has a E4300 @2.25ghz (mobo won't let me clock it any further :(), Foxconn Intel 946 M-atx mobo, X1600XT, 2GB Corsair XMS2 5400C4, Samsung Spinpoint 160Gb sata2 hdd, Samsung Writemaster 18x DVDRW all in a nice little cube case.
 
Used to have a few but got fed up with all the clutter. I have just one rig now with parts to build a few PC's if the need ever arises but it never does.

I do have a desk and a monitor in the bedroom with a LAN cable running through my living room wall but that is for 1v1 racing or strategy games (Command and Conquer and such). If my m8's want a LAN then I just tell them to bring their own rig now as I gave away /sold my other built rigs. The older you get the less hassle you want ;) (I'm only 26).
 
looks like most of us have a spare rig or 2 !

mine
C2D,8800GTX,2xRaptors,2Gb10thAnni,RazorAC-1,custom WC,Lian Li v2000b,30" dell (2560x1600)

built 2 pcs with spare hardware, 1 of them was also watercooled and sold to friend(dual core,2Gb geil,500 Gb in raid)
the other in cupboard, waiting for mine to go pop(p4,2Gb ddr etc..)
also laptop(sony vaio) which is full of Pron, ...so full you cant shut the lid lol:D

I have the following:

HTPC - S775 2.8ghz intel - living room recorder hooked up to sky+ and tv
HTPC - S478 3.0ghz intel - bedroom recorder hooked into sky

Storage pc1 - S478 3.0ghz - edited video is stored, burnt onto dvd or compressed to divx then burnt onto dvd.
Storage pc2 - S478 2.6ghz - same as above
Storage pc3 - S478 2.6ghz - full to the brim with hard drives acting as storage

Spare pcs:

2.6ghz intel
1.7ghz amd - my son's
2.4ghz amd - my daughter's
2.8 amd shuttle - ex-htpc
2.6ghz intel
Ibm celeron laptop - Belongs to the missus
 
1) An old backup HP Pavilion system
2) Sony VAIO laptop for moderate gaming/browsing
3) Building new system for everything (TV, gaming, browsing) all in my bedroom. :)
