Customer demanding to deal direct with a manufacturer

Your contact is with the seller, not Logitech

Manufacturers warranties are usually void on grey stock

I'm afraid to say you'll be in a bit of a tricky situation.

Warranties from stuff bought in Europe are valid over here (for now), but I guess they'll take the stance that it's a grey import from Asia so not Logitech UK's problem..

I'd personally give them a ring if they have a phone number, however. Sometimes it's easier speaking to someone then dealing with emails.

a) What if the seller has gone out of business surely the onous for the warranty falls back to the oem?
Same as if the manufacturer has gone out of business, I guess?

b) Why do OEM's allow us to register products for warranty purposes directly with them and have customer service/RMA procedures on their own websites...
IIRC, the G700 is a very old mouse and has since been superseded by at least one newer design (G700S), if not entirely... To that end, your G700 may be obsolete and so unsupported past a certain date, however new it was when you bought it.

logitech have awesome customer service from past experience

I am tempted to RMA my 3 year old mouse because it keeps double clicking... I wouldn't even think of this with another manufacturer

Didn't they have issues a while back with people abusing support, so they clamped down on it and are playing hard ball a little now. I definitely remember them being excellent for a very long time, but then reports of people taking the mick popped up, swapping old for new, being told not to bother sending in or destroying the old, and then the new items being sold on? Something like that anyway.

Always say it's a gift. It makes the process easier in general. All their stuff has a serial on it that references the date of manufacture which they can use to determine its age and whether it's still in warranty or not.

i got a new keyboard just after xmas, and some of the keys dont work :S , Took about 9 days before they got back to me, but i now have another keyboard being sent out, very good service no problems so far

Only time i've used them my gf has spilt water over my Logitech G15 keyboard which killed the left side of the keyboard. I asked if they could repair it but said they don't have a repair centre in my region and then sent me this
