No there is definitely a different drunkeness. When I drink vodka straight I just get very drunk and very heady very fast, if I drink smirnoff ice or a mix vodka I get very energetic (due to sugar), then proceed to get slower, but it's still an energetic drunk.

Recently started drinking strongbow and this is again a totally different drunk, more of a lazy drunk, whereas smirnoff ice's make me want to run around my house 233 times.

tbh, when I drank Sake for the first time it knocked me for 6.
also if I drink cider I get REALY sleepy.

Maybe a psychological thing - more volume in a pint, therefore your body might be thinking it's more alcohol? What's more likely is your body is not used to the prolonged intake of alcohol from the pints.

below is used to illustrate my point, ammount of units is probable way off.

(shot of voddy) = 4 units, drunk in 2 seconds = Drunk type (a)
(pint of beer) = 3 units, drunk in 10 minutes = Drunk type (b)
(lots of beer) + (lots of voddy) = lots of units, drunk over 2 hour period = wake up next to psycho hambeast.

Switching to pop (or ***** beer, as Gilly calls 'em) is needed if you're dancing enough. Lager is to heavy.

Nah thats what jack and coke is for, or cocktails as they send you hyper :D

1 shot of 40% vodka = 1 unit .... not 4 :/

If I drink lager for a whole night out I will just fall asleep. Been known to nod off in the most hyper of clubs. I'm sure they sneak sleeping tablets into the kegs, so I tend not to drink too much lager when I'm out. Apart from making me feel so bloated I could explode.

Beers are fine with me though, I feel less sleepy and less gassy with them.

Being drunk on beer always feels a lot nicer for me, much more of a happier relaxed feeling.

I usualy just stick to spirits though when I'm clubbings, which is more of a hyper, energetic sort of drunk. I end up feelings just active and dizzy rather than light headed that I get from beer.

Problem with beer and lager is that you have to drink so much of it to get to that happy state, usually doesn't end well for me at the end of a night of clubbing if I'm just drinking pints. It doesn't help that I have no where to put it all.

If I could buy a beer belly for just one night :(

yeah when i drink beer i get loud and cocky
when its alcopops like WKD im hyper
with cider i get really chavvy(asks for fights) and then get sleepy :o

I was drinking Zubrowka, a Polish Bison Grass vodka on Wednesday night. If I had drank the same amount of Whiskey/Whisky, I'd have been in a merry drunk mood; not too sober and not too drunk. But, I don't remember leaving the bar and I woke up in a strange house at 4am. I got dressed and scarpered home. I still have no idea what happened that night.

So yes, different drinks have very different effects on me.

Carbonated drinks (champaign) definately enhance the drunkeness effect. Can't say I've ever noticed a difference between the normal spirits though. Drinks with a lot of sugar will have an extra kick too I suppose.

Good man, that's drinking the polish way, none of these alco'pussy'pops :D

I love drinking proper vodka as it doesn't hit you until you stand up and leave the bar, then BOSH !!!

Have any of you been to 'BZR' in notts? It's triples for singles (£2.75), and they use smirnoff as the mixer. But the special is a double zubruwka and aplle juice at £2.20. We always remember being in that place for ages, but then as soon as we leave most people walk into the parking meters or lamposts jsut outside when heading towards the club (oceana, cookie club, ocean, or dogma :D).

Kahn, i found a great vodka you must try: VODKAT @22% and £5 for 70cl :p It tastes like tap water laced with a weak and foul vodka.
