Is there some reason why people get depressed when drunk? I know its a "depressant" but to me it just seems to make me feel relaxed, and not really have a care in the world.

For me it seems to flow as: Happy > Happier > Getting a bit silly > Flirting with all and sundry > unable to walk > unconsious. I dont think its even made me sad, or angry.

Unthing I've done while drunk I dont think I've really been horrified, just cringed a bit at worst when told, and laughed about it later.

Only when i get to a certain ammount of drink i get depressed and/or its usually the next morning - Im currently off alcohol and green for a 2 months becuase i like to know im 'in control' of my intoxicants - i went out Wendsday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday and these past few days iv only really just caught up with my sleep again and can think normal. Iv had 'Month breaks' a few times and i'd recommend it to others when u have had a few weeks drinking just take a few months off and then carry on it makes it much more enjoyable. Having said all that im tempted to get drunk on thursday when i get my exam results :D

Haha, great way of putting it. This is my list:

Normal > Happy > Merry > Tipsy > Slight Word Slurring > Drunk...

Now inbetween Drunk and Blind Drunk there is a special place called THE PULLING ZONE. Yes, when I'm in the zone I believe I can pull any bird in the town. Sometimes this extra confidence will earn you a slap in the face, but other times it will actually gain you a phone number. This is where I like to end my evening, most nights out.

Back to the list:

...Mates Pulling You Off a Minger > Struggling to Walk > 5 "shots of water" * > Blind Drunk > Kicked Out for Sleeping > Kebab Time

* When I was paraletic in Magaluf my mates gave me 5 shots of "water" to make me better... it was actually sambucca. They found it funny.

Going into my second year old uni myself this year, and after last years drinking, i think im gonna have to cut down a bit too.

Have found out that drinking excessive amounts causes me to sleepwalk, which led to some very weird findings in the morning! :p Found my dressing gown, and a roll of bog roll outside my room one morning, not a clue why i put it there

I'm going to be drinking plenty of water through the nights, and hopefully less pints...

I drink at home since my parents have always been open about that sort of thing so having a glass or two of wine or a beer at home is totally normal. That really helps you get a mature sort of attitude to alcohol and when I go out I never drink stupid amounts.

I love a drink, went to a 21st at the weekend and had a great time. I am going to have a drink tonight and watch the football.

Never been to uni but when you spend 5 days working for 8 hours you need want a drink at the weekend, uni is just one big drink up.

Stopped drinking few weeks ago (was prompted by medication tho). Brilliant is what I say :)

Enjoying going out a lot more actually as I'm not stupidly ******!

I've been t-total for nearly 3 years now and have no regrets. I didn't like not being in control of myself or my senses and I lead a much healthier lifestyle now. The way some people drink now-a-days as if it was water sickens me. With obesity and binge drinking being two major health factors in the UK and they are both increasing there will be major repercussions in the near future because of it.

dont know why people feel they have to go T Total. Cant anyone just enjoy a couple of pints without having to get totaly bladered

Personally I didn't feel I 'had' to, I wanted to give up drinking and I wasn't a big drinker at all despite being from Belfast. lol I think the notion of having a few pints without getting drunk will become a thing of the past. And it's not just affecting kids, it affects all age groups. :)

My attitude seems to have changed a little recently. Quite simply, I seem to be moving more in the direction of quality over quantity. I prefer to drink a nice beer instead of Carling/Carlsberg, or I'll go for wine instead. As a result, I enjoy my drink rather than just drinking it for the sake of it. Also, I can't afford as many so can't get blind drunk even if I want to.

I've never really been a drinker. Years ago I remember getting drunk during my mid to late teens and wondering why I did it, never really enjoyed it and didn't do it that often, just did it because everyone else did it. Not liking alcohol made it very easy for me to stop, I'd be surprised if I've had more than 2 units a year for the last 15 years (i.e. a few sips of champagne at New Years to which I always add 7UP when no one is looking so it tastes better :p ). Oh.. I do have a thimbleful of port at xmas, that's about it for me in any one year. Interestingly, no one around me drinks either, neither the missus nor the rest of the family, although my mother does on occasion, but not to excess.

don't see the point in stopping drinking. Just don't do it all the time. It is only when you do it too often that it isn't fun. Going T total is a bit over the top and will be even less fun. And never stop smokin the green.

I could easily instantly stop drining at any time. Sometimes it is people that like it more that have more problems, I don't need it or think it is that great but getting drunk occasinally is fun.

You know, its the whole fact that its destroys my wallet, ruins my training, kills my motivation, leads me partys/people I dont really want to be invloved with.
Drink isn't the cause of that. If you didn't want to drink you wouldn't, thats like saying a hammer is a murderous weapon because you choose to kill somebody with it.

If you don't want to drink then don't drink, but don't blame it for your problems. It is a substance that you have chosen to use or abuse.

One of my mates is completely t-total and of course he gets a little ribbing for it. When your mates it's only natural but we don't make a thing of it or pressure him

Stop being a woman...who cares if your mates joke about it..Only gaylords bow to peer pressure..

Drink is drink..its not that important...If you like it then drink it...if you dont drink it well then dont...its pretty simple..If its having a negative effect on your life then stop..

Is not a big deal.

I've never drank - well, I've had the odd glass, but I don't really drink.

Don't even now why, just never started.

Still go out to clubs, still enjoy nights out with my friends, it just costs a hell of a lot less..
