You would then have to do a non paying bidder thingy against yourself to claim your ebay fees back I guess. You could be reported for trying to raise the price artificially too. Best to use a separate account and do it I guess.

If it's too late for you to stop the auction through Ebay, then there's nothing you can do that doesn't break the rules. Bidding on your own auction or getting a friend to do so is strictly against Ebay's rules. Perhaps your best option is to let the auction finish then tell the winning bidder that you're not able to sell - but you'd have to expect bad feedback.

Bear in mind that the best bids often come in the last minutes of an auction, so not all is necessarily lost. Also bear in mind that entering into an auction is entering into a contract to sell the item - the only completely legitimate thing you can do is let your item go for the price it's going for, even if it's less than you were hoping for.

Exactly. I'm afraid you'll have to go through with the auction just be more careful next time.

Indeed - and reserve prices are pointless on ebay and put buyers off in my opinion.

As a seller, unless you are fairly sure that your item is going to reach its correct value then you should simply start the bidding at or near the price you want to get.

Or you can ignore what everybody else has said and read this page about how you can end your auction immediately if you made a mistake in pricing.

Then use this link to end the auction without any problems.

My bad, only just realised he's waited until the last hours before noticing the price is pap. lol.
Yeah I was gonna post the same info as you before I realised :)

ebay is such a load of rubbish now, full of crooks and scammers
Thanks for that cheery message...

You could have spoke to someone personally about and come to a agreement that when they win it nothing comes from it, just positive feedback.

Like a friend or someone you know.

Get a mate to bid on it takes my vote. Rules are made to be broken anyway...
Fine unless you were one of the legitimate bidders. Then you'd start a thread on here saying omg ebay is full of unscrupulous sellers flouting ebay's rules...
