If I were you I would leave his well alone if your unsure about how to secure yours. Plus, as already said, it's illegal. Be neighbourly and tell him about his network. It'll make you feel better when you impress him.

There's a guy here who has 58 different wireless users, all different Mac-addresses. The whole neighbourhood is using his wireless router, for over half a year now!!!!

I know this as he has also enabled web-based admin on his router without a password!!!
