All i can say about the GameCube console is that it small and quiet apart from that its pretty much like any other console. With regards to games there are some real gems out there such as

Paper Mario
Mario Sunshine
Resident Evil 4
Pimkin

The only issue i would say with the console is that since the Wii be launched the second hand games have got more expensive. So it may be worth buy a cheap XBOX or playstation 2 if you plan to get a lot of games.

Excellent console, some top quality games, most of them 1st party though.

Ones to check out would be

Zelda: Windwaker
Metroid Prime
Mario Sunshine
RE4
Zelda: Twilight Princess (If you don't have a Wii)

And loads more

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Super Smash Bros

Probably the greatest game of all friggin time? lol

Very nice console but these recommend a game threads do appear too much IMO.

Aye. I've thought about saving a text file with my GC recommendations on to c&p everytime they crop up, but then I realised how sad that'd make me.

Anywho:

In addtion to those games mentioned - F-Zero GX, both Pikmin games, both Rogue Squadron games, all Resident Evil games (esp. 4), both Metroids, Viewtiful Joe and Soul Calibur II (the best version is on the GC imo... Link is in it ffs! :D)

The GC is great. I bought mine purely for wind waker when that came out, and I hardly played anything else on it after that for a few years. But recently I realised i'd been missing out on loads of games so i did my best to acquire those i'd misses. Still got 5/6 to get through.

Games i've enjoyed most:

Zelda: WW
Zelda: TP
Zelda Collection
1080 Avalanche
Eternal Darkness
Resident Evil 4
Mario Kart - Double Dash

The console and the games are great

There are loads of brilliant games to choose from and now at bottom dollar prices.

The only thing I disliked was the controller. I felt it was the weakest controller of that generation.

^You speak the lies  !!!!!!!!!. It was the most comfy and best(except for the lame z button)

The lame z button was one of the things I was thinking about. Comfort wise it was no different for me from any other controller apart from the Duke (xbox original controller that was later replaced by the s-controller)

I just felt this controller was lacking a bit. In comparison. Probably only a small niggle though.

Personally I really like the GC controller, far better than the ps2. I think the worst (of any I've owned) has to be the dreamcast one though, you couldn't actually reach the start button with your thumb!
