Using windows 7 im guessing? Thats the way its supposed to work.

Im not sure how to turn it off though, Just had a quick browse through the settings.

You can't make it behave like the quick launch bar in Vista/XP.

The only thing that you can change is to set the opened programs to not have the text label.

Yep, that's normal behaviour (And a very good idea IMO). It's not the same as quicklaunch in XP/Vista.

right mouse click the menu bar and click properties, under task buttons change it to always combine hide labels

Make a quick launch bar and drag your icon/programs/shortcuts there it will look organized and tidy.

Quick launch on Windows 7 is such a waste!

Hide Labels, Never Combine = winner! (God knows why it isn't a default option)

Pff, why would you go back to the old, cluttered way of doing it? The new superbar - a giant quick launch bar - is fantastic. Perhaps you should give it a try before attempting to ruin it?

Because I want to click an icon and have it open a program.
And the icons suck - so I need the text to tell what it is.
And I've also turned off those annoying popup thumbnail things. I use text to at-a-glance tell browser windows apart.
Plus I don't want junk on my taskbar when I'm not using it - that's what the Start Menu is for, and I have things pinned there.

Default superbar is arse in almost every way :/
