Not sure about mods, but TOV is the one to get if youre only going to play online, it gives you everything.

you can usually pick all 3 up cheap enough if it's not mp you're after.

Mp is just a bonus, will be mainly just playing skirmish against AI.

Is TOV an expansion, will i need the original or something?

Both of the expansions are stand alone.

OF is the best out of the two, as it gives you far more.

I would say buy the "Company Of Heroes: Anthology" pack, as it's only £10 retail. Unless you're buying it from Steam? Patching this game from a fresh install is a pain in the ass, so the Steam version might pay off.

+1 for this i own the them all and would have been much cheaper from steam :/ but i couldnt wait.

This. CoH is probably the worst patching experience I've had before I grabbed a steam copy. It's a huge pain.

There are no Russians in the game. The Americans are in the original CoH game.

Well of course, otherwise no one would buy the original.

Original = Americans and Germans.
OF = Commonwealth and another German force.

The original gives you the Americans and the German Wehrmacht, the first add-on (Opposing Fronts) unlocks the British (very fun! ) and the German Panzer Elite and the last add-on (Tales Of Valor) just gives some new game modes and some alternative units to replace the stock ones for all 4 factions!

Great game ive been replaying the orignal and OF and its aged rather well. One of the best rts out there, needs a russian and african campain though.

Move on to Men of War and you will get what you want.

I had all three, could never get the multiplayer to work. Not once.
Got bored of the single player and sold them off. It's just too poorly patched and looked after to be worth it now in my opinion.

A Shame, cause I loved the single player to begin with and I think multiplayer would have been great.

As Hank suggested above I have since had my eye on Men of War but it hasn't gripped me like CoH did.

I have to admit - its the single most annoying multi-player game on the planet - I dont mind when things dont work for a reason but when something works fine for weeks and then decided to have a "NAT negotiation error" at the drop of a hat - its, shall we say, a touch annoying!!

BTW - Steam is worth its weight in DIAMONDS with this game! - It auto patches which takes roughly 3 days of work out of the equation!

Persevere with the multi-player - its the single best RTS out there IMO!
