You know the Retail CPU is cheaper and includes a heatsink - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-360-IN

Corsir XMS3 RAM is cheaper - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-203-CS

The CM690MKII lite is £20 cheaper - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-212-CM&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=29

With the money saved you certainly should be thinking about getting a better motherboard that has proper VRM cooling and more phases on the power circuitry.

pretty much the same as stulids build, but gets you a Z68 motherboard, and a motherboard that will let you have two graphics card in crossfire/SLI and put the case connectors in

speaking of crossfire or SLI, are you planning on going down that route any time soon, because you would need more power than 650W for high end cards in SLI/crossfire

A good 650W (which the XFX is) should be good to go up to xfire 6950's. They draw around 520W furmark.

With a lot of overclocking, a Corsair / XFX 750W for peace of mind.

The XFX also comes with 4 PCIE connectors.

For 580GTX in SLI, minimum 850W with good efficiency.

I would pick up the Asus Z68 board, or the Asrock Extreme 4 since you have space in your budget. Maybe a slightly better cooler, like the Akasa Viper / Titan Fenrir.

RAM doesn't have much impact on CPU overclocking, as it's done on the CPU multiplier (and vcore).

You tweak the ram separately, 1600MHz, and with as low voltage as you can get stable. RAM performance don't really factor in on SB OC. Which is nice.

the Silver Arrow is a bit overkill for 4.5GHz. Mind you it will allow you to go to 4.8GHz, but imo it's OTT for normal use / gaming. The mobo should be good for 4.5GHz, but it's not an extreme overclocker anyway.

Still, it's a silent cooler and will keep everything running tip top. If you fancy pimping your case, you can purchase a windowed side panel for the CM 690 II later on.
