Do people still play the multiplayer portion of that?

Probably, but you don't see a whole lot of people on the base version of the game 'cause EA/Criterion never ported over one major bits of MP DLC (Big Surf Island IIRC), so a modder decided to do it himself, and quite a few people play with that mod instead. It also comes with a DLC unlocker because they messed up and for the longest time you could only buy the DLC through Amazon for Origin for whatever reason.

kids playing pc games at 7 says a lot about the parents

Careful you don't fall off your high horse!

My kids play pc games and i can't see a problem with it, its more interactive than watching TV which they dont watch too much of.

I make sure their game time is limited and the games and any websites involved are suitable.

Me and the nipper (she is 7) are currently running through heavily molded torchlight 2.
She plays plants vs zombies, mine craft and others under supervision.
She had a few toons in marvel online for a bit, the reason being I used to let her run with a diablo 3 character that was geared until my missus caught me and bust my balls.

My kid is 5 and watches the iPad and plays computer games. The days of children being stimulated enough by a crayon and colouring book are long gone. Some games are great for problem solving and education. Imagine wanting your child to learn and have fun.

Shock horror, what are you like 137 years old and still living in the 1800's

Games are an essential part of child's developing brain, it helps them learn so many things, problem solving, hand eye coordination among many other useful things.

It's all about moderation and balance. Regulating volume of play time is important as well as getting them to be reasonably active - too many lazy fat kids about nowadays.

My boys love minecraft - 9 and 11. Lego games too. I play these games with them. Local play only though.

Wife hates all gaming. I grew up with a C64 and Amiga. Never lost my enjoyment of playing games. She still married me.

My personal dislike is tablets. Much harder to regulate playtime whereas Xbox One gaming or PC Gaming on TV in the lounge is easier to regulate because it's so visible.

PvZ Garden Warfare my boy loves it, all the characters are customisable with collectable cards which you can buy with coin you earn in game.
