Its needed for 2 reasons

1. To clear the top of the carbs
2. To help cool them as there is no carb fans fitted

:(

There was stacks of room in the engine bay to feed cooling pipes to the carbs if absolutely necessary, couldnt you have just welded a bulge into the bonnet?

Anyway - those tyres - are they Yoko Parada S2's?

Vent would have done the same job then?

I really really dislike scooby bonnet scoops on anything other than a scooby. They also do a nice job of slowing you down due to drag, I do see you point about keeping carb cool, but I would have gone for a vent myself, removing the bonnet seal at the back would have probably sorted the airflow through the engine.

The scoop seems a sensible way of doing it, killing two birds with one stone as it were as it saves faffing about with loads of ducting. The only problem I can see is once you stop you might have trouble with heat build up as there is no air flow?

^^See that, that's an opinion ;)

Bloody hell, enough fuss over a bonnet scoop? I worry about you lot sometimes.

Looks very shiny, how much was the sprayjob?
