go to manufacturers site and check what CPUs your mobo can support, then bang in a decent upgrade, you may need a bios flash, the ubiquitous Q6600 would be good if it supports it, then OC, get 4 gig of RAM, either an extra 2 or just bin old stuff and get 4 new, then upgrade gfx card (recomendation would depend on total budget), job done

Pretty much this to be honest. Your current cpu is going to bottleneck a new graphics card so you will have to either overclock what you have to 3Ghz or more, or get a new cpu. The other option would be to jump ship to AMD. I would'nt even consider a Intel rig with Sandybridge coming out in Nov/Dec and killing off 1156.

i've had my old 6300 to 2.8, how easily yours would get there depends on the processor, but it would be worth a go, too see what you can get out of it.

just rememeber not too give it too much vcore and watch the temps dont get too high.
