Anyway, who's to say these rebels are any better? All the big bosses are ex-Gadaffi, and whats to say they don't just want to replace Gadaffi and do exactly the same thing all over again?

But obviously, Lives are cheaper than oil, that's all that matters.

So, why are we not doing the same for the Ivory Coast? Or Egypt? Or Tunisia? Saudi? Bahrain?

Its a bit late though as the rebel fources last major city is under attack. If they had acted sooner this could all of been over.

Well, to be fair we did in Kosovo and Sierra Leone, and they didn't seem to have anything we needed.

So why those two places, Libya, and not the others ?

Dunno.

I'd sooner we went to none of them.

They key is

"all necessary measures" to protect civilians.

Therefore air strikes on non rebel forces is likely. This is going to be messy

The US was not opposing him and made mooted noises until gaddafi made this speech and then the US's rhetoric change somewhat immediately.

So we’re going to shoot down a few of his aircraft and threaten to blow his forces to kingdom come if he moves towards Benghazi. Given that it has a million inhabitants it’s probably the best way of preventing a bloodbath.

How is this going to make any difference now? Its going to be all over before anything is in place to happen and even then I don't see how a no fly zone is going to make any difference to the final outcome.

Just opening up a huge load of trouble.
