Have you been overclocking? Could be the consequences of a bad OC. Any recent hardware or driver installation? That could be the problem.

Is it possible for you to perform a system restore? If not, then your last resort would be to reinstall Windows.
 
If you have precious files and folders on your HDD, then I would try taking it to your local computer store; see if they can repair it for you. Otherwise, I think it might be time to reinstall Windows!
 
Not that I know of. I think the only recovery CD that Windows uses is the Windows Recovery Environment. However, I am sure there is something out there.

Try booting onto a Linux Live CD; just to see if it boots into it. If it doesn't, then you may have a much more serious issue than what it seems.

Ok, hopefully they will sort it out for you.

Now you mention that, it seems logical. If you installed a corrupt version of Windows to start with, it would only be a matter of time before you noticed it.
