Deleting Duplicates quickly.....

I have just been backing up my files and i have had a look in my 'Photos' file and i have noticed i have a lot of duplicate folders and photos inside the folders.....Now is there any programs i can use which can find the duplicates and then delete them as i have hundreds of folders and thousands of photos and it will take me AGES to go through them and delete the duplicates so something that can help will be great.

Are some/all of the duplicates just the same pic but saved in a different file format? For example, Photo1.jpeg & Photo1.png?

If so, you can always just sort them by type of file in Windows Explorer and bulk delete that way.

Is each set of duplicates in the same folder i.e. both pics in Folder1? They must have a different file name if that's the case which would make it difficult for a program to search by this particular criteria. I'd be surprised if there is something out there that can do this without using the file name?

A quick Google of "delete duplicate files" did return a few promising looking results though - Easy Duplicate Finder & DoubleKiller were the top 2. Both are free as well so you may as well give them a go.

Well they have the same name but are saved inside a folder inside a folder and so on....Ok well looks like i will have to just search through and eventually i will get there

If the file names are the same then use one of the apps I have linked to (sorry I ninja edited my post). Should be a doddle.
