Deleting files from second windows install

To cut a long story short - Basically I had to install windows again on to a second drive to get my original install to work.

I am now left with those windows files on the second drive but I cant delete them because 'I need permission from trustedinstaller' problem is, I cant even edit permissions because access is denied. Ive also tried command prompt to no avail. Formatting isnt ideal either as there are a few files on there that I want but have no room to backup.

open my computer

left click then right click on the drive you want rid of
Select properties -> click security tab
Click edit -> click Add , then add your current user account
Select this account in the list -> tick the full control tick box and hit apply

Tried this, Just says Access is denied.

Ok , next method

I assume the account you are using is an admin level account?
if it aint right click explorer and run as admin then ...

open my computer

left click then right click on the drive you want rid of
Select properties -> click security tab
Click advanced -> click owner tab
Click edit -> select your current user -> apply -> ok

ALT method
get a ubuntu disc stick it in PC reboot
load it as live version (doesnt install just runs from disc)
let it boot up and then use it to copy the files you need off olde drive
after you are done delete that olde partition <- WARNING
if your olde drive was connected when you installed your new OS boot files might be on this olde partition

Changed the owner (Didnt know how to do that initially so learned something new) but its still saying i need permission from myself now. I then changed it so I have full control over it, Still didnt work.

Also, I cant really delete in entirely as there isn't enough room to backup the files first. However, Wouldnt a linux live cd allow me to delete them anyway?

Yeah a linux boot cd should allow you to do this
