Deleting "Program files" and "windows"

I had windows installed on hard disk A now i'm using that in another PC so windows is booting from disk B, but I cannot delete the windows or program files folders from disk A. I do not have permission, anyone know how I can delete them?

Take ownership?

or

Boot from the Windows CD and delete from the command prompt.

Tried both already, doesn't seem to work, I'm the owner but still don't have permission

Take ownership and then give youself permissions to folder and subfolders, that should do it.

Move the files you want to keep onto Disk B (or other storage) and then format Disk A.

This will give you a clean start on Disk A - I assume that you won't want to be using the Windows installation again if you are deleting those directories.

theres a small app that installs into the shell (right click menu)
this trys to delete the flagged files/folders outside of windows circumventing the protection.

doesnt always work mind you but worth a try
