1 HD got fried, so had to install windows on 1 of my storage HD's.

Now have a new HD which will be used for Windows.

I am gona install windows on the new HD now, but just wondering, if i just delete c:\WINDOWS and \Program Files and \Documents and Settings on the storage drive, will that be ok, and not create any potential problems? or is this not the best way to delete windows from a drive?

thanks

Format is the easiest, safiest, and (if you select quick format) the quickest way to prepare a drive for Windows.

If it's brand new then you're going to have to do a full format anyway, before it becomes usable.

Install Windows on your new drive and set it up . Your storage drive will be shown in windows .Right click this drive and select Format .It will wipe everything off ready for storage . You will normally format to NTFS.

hmmm ok i should have mentioned i have about 150GB of stuff on the storage drive....ie. i cant format it :)

could probably move it all to the new drive then back again, but that would be LONG, would just deleting the folders i mentioned be ok?

Provided you arnt using that install, I dont see why not!

should be fine (you might get one file "flash.ocx" in the windows directory that will NOT allow itself to be deleted) -unlocker + taking permissions doesn't even help!

-remove all other hard drives when installing windows on the new one
