What annoys me with Amazon deliveries is they'll leave the parcels in the entrance hall (we live in a block of flats) but state on the tracking it was handed to a resident. Not only that, but they'll leave the parcels under a big sign saying "DO NOT LEAVE PARCELS HERE", which was put there due to thieves nicking them.
Mate, I used to work at a place where I would have to place the orders for computers/servers etc.
Just because my name is on the invoice doesn't normally mean that the item was for me.
We had a process, where delivery people should take the item to goods in, the porters would receive and receipt the goods in the purchase system and then get it delivered to the correct person on the internal order system.
The main thing was that I wasn't allowed to sign for the items myself as it could be a case of me just buying anything that I wanted, getting it delivered to myself and then selling the item on.
The chap we had at reception just didn't want to do his job which is simply tell delivery people to take it round the back to goods in, so that the porters can do their role in the process.
He used to interrupt me during meetings or changes just to tell me that's there's a delivery for me; in which case my reply would always be, tell them to take it to goods in...
I came back once to find a whole server room racks and sever blades stacked up in reception as he decided to sign for it and he wanted me to move it...
my reply was to either get the porters to move them to the area that they needed to go or get the courier company to come back and take it to the right place...
