Delivery question

I have a receipt from OCuK saying delivery of my new graphics card is tuesday 3rd May. I ordered it on thursday. In the email I also got from OCuK, it says:

"Consignments will be trackable at DX's website from approximately 11pm on the day of despatch - or 11pm the next working day in the case of weekend or bank holiday despatch."

Since tomorrow is a bank holiday, the first time the consigment would be available to track would presumably be tuesday night from about 11pm. So does this mean I won't actually get it till wednesday?

Na you will get it Tuesday matey don't worry about the tracking stuff, it is often not up to date / buggy.

the day of dispatch from overclockers I think that means.

You should hopefully get it Tuesday, I have a parcel coming by Parcel Force which was dispatched Thursday.

Edit: I would have thought you should be able to see the tracking details as Thursday would have been a normal day.

Thanks, hope it does arrive tuesday as I'm in all day. Don't really want to wait in all day if it's not going to arrive, that's why I asked.

Did a edit on my post above, I would have thought you should be able to track the parcel as Thursday would have been a normal day.

I'd expect your tracking to update early Tuesday morning. If you were promised Tuesday delivery you should get it Tuesday, just tracking updates are slow over the bank holiday weekend.

Cheers. Yeah, tracking not showing yet. I put the consigment number into their website box, but it says 'Sorry, this combination of tracking number and postcode do not correspond with our records. Please check and try again.'

this one time, the tracker finaly let me track my parcel n told me it was just been picked up... as the dpd delivery guy knocked on my door

IIRC if you ordered it before the cut off and it shipped from OCUK Thursday you should see it Tuesday.
If it was ordered after the shipping cut off on Thursday it probably won't ship till tomorrow, but you may want to post in the CS section (I'd guess if you got the shipping email from OCUK Thursday it'll be a case of DX's site not updating - I've had similar with HDNL in the past where the tracking was running well behind the package).

I ordered a PC on thursday before 2pm , "28 Apr 2011 19:31 Hub 3 - Birmingham Your parcel has been received at our sortation hub" It says on tracking , likely to get to the isle of man for tuesday/tomorrow?

If it's still in Birmingham then possibly not.

If you were on the mainland then it would almost certainly be delivered tomorrow but as deliveries to the Isle of Man usually take an extra day it may well be Wednesday.

You'll just have to keep an eye on the tracking information tonight and tomorrow morning then you'll have a better idea.

Do you remember one of the Top Gear challenges, where they raced a letter posted into Royal mail post box from lands-end to one of the Hebrides islands by car, and they lost?

I reckon your parcel could be on a plane/boat tonight to the isle of man and with you tomorrow.

I just realised that I ordered it 5.11pm wednesday.and not thursday as I'd said in my OP, so it should actually have been shipped thursday. I just rang OCuK sales and they'd shipped it friday and couldn't give me a reason why it wasn't shipped thursday. Now I won't get the delivery till tomorrow since DX won't have collected it till this afternoon,which accounts for my tracking number not known on their website. I just knew it wouldn't come today. Come on OCuK, get your act together :mad:

DX are useless from my experience so far. tracking just doesn't work, and their ETA's have been next day delivery... in 3 working days time.
