At work I am currently using a Dell 17" and the picture quality is very very good!

I am now in the market for a 20" Widescreen so I thought I good place to start would be the Dell 20".

How do people rate these?
Anyone got any pictures of them?

Thx

Personally I love mine,

I use it for 360, PS2 and gamecube and of course PC. Scaling is pretty good on it, and I have no dead pixels or backlight bleed,

Colours are vibrant, are everything about is awesome TBH.

There are actually two 20" WS models by Dell now, the 2007WFP and the E207WP, I have two of the 2007WFP and they are brilliant. The E207WP is quite a bit cheaper however I am sure it only has a TN panel in it, so poor viewing angles. I also use my 360 on it using the VGA cable and its very good.

Ill be ordering one tonight, keep hovering over the buy button.

Have people experienced ghosting or any bad things with this monitior?

Ill be gettin the cheaper version of the two 20"ers.

I haven't experienced any ghosting/backlight bleed/banding on my 2007WFP, the E207WP (cheaper one) has a TN panel in it I am sure so it should be even better for gaming than the 2007WFP, just not as good viewing angles.

I dont "compare" my 20" WS with a 17" 5:4 screen, its huge compared to it, it only has 26 more pixels in height but 400 in length, still a hell of a lot more desktop space.

thought it was a 4:3 screen

I love my dell 20", Great for 360 and PC use. Cant flaw it panel wise (no banding etc) but i do find that in movies the black isnt very black, has a slight purple/maroon tint to it...

I always get confused here but I think I am right..the way I remember is when you divide say 1024 with 768 if it equals 1.3, that is a 4:3 ratio (I cant remember how you get 4:3 from 1.3 but I remember thats the fraction) however when you divide 1280x1024 you get 1.25 and I am sure its 5:4.

Someone who actually knows correct me if I am wrong, and explain how you work it out :D

My bro has a 19" widescreen for his xbox and that looks HUGE compared to a standard 17", even tho the 19" isnt as high. I didnt wanna lose any vertical space so a 20.1 Inch should be fine for that.

Im lookin forward to getting it!

I dont really watch DVD's on my computer, its mainly used for gaming so the black not being black isnt much of an issue.

If anything the E207WP is likely to be slower than the 2007WFP thanks to the very fast IPS panel in the 2007WFP. Not entirely sure but I suspect it's the same panel used in the NEC LCD20WGX2 which is the quickest widescreen around. Baddass compared the 2007WFP to the Samsung SM205BW (TN, 6 ms) and found the Dell was a touch quicker.

Personally I wouldn't buy the E207WP because you can get a 20" TN panel screen for a lot less. Much better just avoiding TN screens though and getting the 2007WFP (especially at the price mentioned earlier in the thread), or something like the Viewsonic VX2025wm.

What you should really do is save up for the 2407WFP though :)

I can afford a 24" Now, but my eyes would hurt and I dont need something so big.

20.1" should suffice.

Was going to start a thread when i saw this.

I brought a Dell 2007FPW, the first dell widescreen I beleive, but I've noticed that OCUK sell one, the E207WFP - whats the difference between mine and this one? I see they both go up the same resolution.

The E207WFP has an inferior panel afaik.

So basically the reson why there sellign it so cheap is because they;ve cut back on the 'quality' components that make up this monitor and go for 'made in china' stuff so they can aim their prices at the lower end of the market?

well it makes sense to have an "economy" model (hence the E in the name). They used a TN Film panel in the E207WFP which is cheaper to manufacturer and therefore they can reduce the cost of the retail product. The 2007WFP has either an S-IPS or S-PVA panel.
