They look like they're bowing slightly under the weight? =/

could you do me a favour and measure the exact screen size viewable?

from edge to edge of the bezel

thats brilliant...thanks!

all the dimensions i've seen have included the stand.

That makes it the same height as my 19" CRT (Viewable) and about and about an inch wider either side (viewable)

not too bad i guess......will make the room look bigger without a CRT in it!

Its an h'optical illusion, I have the monitors tilted inwards so its easier for me to see, which just makes them appear to bow - it has a large steel crossbar supporting them, seen here

Going to look at getting one of these myself, the only thing that i keep looking for is new ones coming out, the Dell is getting on a bit now.
Is the Dell 2007 still the monitor to go for? The only other thing is the 1600 x 1050 screen, many games support it? My mac's got that res, but do not play games on it...

More & more games are supporting WS all the time,if they don't ,most can be fixed with a quick edit of the ini/config file ;)

All new games support it and almost all other games have bypasses to enable it.

The Dell 2007WFP certainly is NOT however "getting along now" :p It's still one of (if not then "The") best20" panels out there, the only contender is the NEC 20" which also has an IPS panel but of course it has no HDCP and lacks the features and connectivity of the Dell.

Yeah the 2007WFP isn't old at all, maybe Sherm is thinking of the 2005FPW. The 2007WFP is less than a year old IIRC. Also ignore the 16 ms response time quoted by Dell. If you get the IPS panel it's one of the quickest TFTs around. It's more like 4 or 5 ms than 16. Compared to an 8 ms screen I used to use the Dell is miles quicker.

Also 1680*1050 is the standard 20" and 22" resolution and widely supported.

Hiya, sorry i did not meant that the Dell is old had, but meant that si there something around the corner worth hanging on for? I know that you can never wait for the newest kit as you would never buy anything otherwise, but as i will not be getting one for a few months then it would be worth knowing if there was anything around the corner.

On the other hand its good to know what you guys think of you Dell's It's been my choice of screen upgrade for a while now and sure it will stay that way till i get one.

Cheers
