DELL 2405FPW is back at OcUK !!!

so there is no real point in the offer as it will still cost you £1200 to buy two of them even when the offer isnt on
From what I've noticed, the 2405FPW usually goes for about £700 (£1400 for two) normally, or £900 during "buy one, get a second half price" (£1350 for two) deals. I don't recall DELL ever doing a real special deal on the 2405FPW in the UK :(

This is the best price I've seen it go for at the moment, and if you're not interested in the 2407WFP I'd say now is the time to buy :)

Makes no difference whether Dell offer the likes of OCUK etc. the new models they will flood auction sites from the USA and prices will be very attractive, I bought 2x 2405's 2 months after they came out for £585 + £40 Shipping, and had no trouble in getting the 3yr warranty transfered.

If you really want a 2407 I'd wait and get one when they become available, I highly doubt that they will be over £600-650.

I know that I will be changing my single 2405 I have left for a 2407. :)

Sorry for the n00bish post, but is HDCP something worth waiting for? I am very tempted by the 2405 now it has come down in price again, but having read various articles on HDCP I am a bit confused, and don't really understand. Can anyone explain in really basic terms why it is important to have this feature? And is there no way the 2405 will be able to make use of it?

Vista will use HDCP so depends on whether you will be using that, anyway you'll have to get a new GFX card as well but that's a different story. Also HD content will need a HDCP connection to view it at full resolution, I'm not sure that someway round that wont appear over the coming months though...

i agree, i dont like the new design as much as the old style

I like the new stand :( If I end up getting a 2405 I am definitely going to get a new stand for it!

Of course there was the incident a while back where they were accidentally doing a buy one get one free on them and were even honoring orders too. That is how the auction sites became riddled with people selling their new sceond free 2405FPW.

Vista will support HDCP but having HDCP capable equipment is not a requisite for Vista. The only area that concerns HDCP support is to watch HD encrypted material

And here was me thinking I was the only one! :D

I know it may sound daft but the new stand is the only thing stopping me from getting the 2405!

Are you saying you can buy the new stand seperately and fix it to the old 2405?

I agree, the new one looks much nicer.

I will get one if they are under £700, otherwise I will pay the extra and get the 30" as it can be had for 1k.
